Der Verein bezweckt die selektiv separate und/oder selektiv gemischte Sammlung von Wertstoffen. Dabei strebt er eine schweizweit flächendeckende Erfassung und einen maximal hohen stofflichen Verwertungsanteil des Sammelguts an, unter Wahrung des im Umweltschutzgesetz verankerten Verursacherprinzips. Der Verein verfolgt keine kommerziellen Zwecke und erstrebt keinen Gewinn.
